Cooperation with French city Mazamet started in 1985 when students from Rybnik’s secondary school Sióstr Urszulanek hosted a group from catholic secondary school Jeanne d'Arc. Our cooperation was extended by collaboration of choirs, artists, music bands and sportspersons. In 1994 an agreement was signed between Rybnik and Mazamet. The idea of the agreement was cooperation not only in the cultural area but also economic. Since then in our cities regularly are hold days of Polish culture in France and days of French culture in Poland.
